Marking the 150th anniversary of St. Joseph being declared patron of the universal church, Pope Francis proclaimed a year-long celebration dedicated to the foster father of Jesus. In commemoration of this special year dedicated to St. Joseph, St Joseph’s Evening College organized a student retreat, penitential service and a feast mass for all the Catholic staff and students in St Joseph’s Boys High School (SJBHS) chapel on March 20, 2021 at 5.45 p.m.

More than 270 students actively took part in the Penitential service and Eucharistic celebration. Fr. Gerald Solomon C.Ss. r, a redemptorist priest, administer of Nava Spoorthi Kendra , Bengaulru led the retreat. He beautifully spoke about the call of God in his life and how God has transformed him. He also encouraged the students to reflect on the virtues of St. Joseph. It was an enriching and thought-provoking session. More than 10 Jesuit priests were present to hear confessions. Fr. Gerald Solomon C.Ss.r and Fr. Arun Lobo SJ celebrated the Eucharist. Mr. Jeffin Lijo J, campus minister shared that it was a great opportunity and a blessing to be part of the retreat especially during the Lenten season, a time for renewing faith, hope and love. Dr. Albert Smith proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Jeffin Lijo, Fr. Arun Lobo and the campus ministry team organized the retreat.

Campus Ministry conducted way of the cross on March 12, and 19, 2021. More than 150 Catholic students attended the station of the cross in SJBHS chapel every Friday.
