1970	Evening College was established as a part of St. Joseph’s College.
1972	Evening College was separated from St. Joseph’s College.
1991	Recognized under 2f of the UGC Act.
1994	Recognized under 12B of the UGC Act.
1996	Permanent Affiliation Status given by Bangalore University.
2000	The College became independent Evening UG College after bifurcation of Pre-University Course.
2002	Accredited by NAAC with three stars.
2002	BA (JPS – Journalism, Political Science & Sociology) was introduced
2004	Confirmation of Autonomy
2007	Diploma in Human Rights was introduced
2009	BBM Course was introduced.
2010	Extension of Autonomous Status
2010	Reaccredited by NAAC with ‘B’ grade with a CGPA of 2.82 out of 4.00.
2013	BCA/BSW Course was introduced.
2013	Grant of approval from MHRD and UGC for Community College.
2014	Post-graduation course in Commerce (M.Com) was introduced.
2015	Post-graduation course in M.A. (English) was introduced.
2016	Extension of Autonomous Status
2016	BA (EJP – English, Journalism & Psychology) was introduced
2016	Diploma in Hospital Administration was introduced
2016	Reaccredited by NAAC with ‘B++’ grade with a CGPA of 2.89 out of 4.00
2018	Post-graduation course in M.A. (Journalism and Mass Communication) was introduced.
