Teachers’ Day: Student Council pays tribute to SJEC teachers and staff

This year the student council of St Joseph’s Evening College (Autonomous) celebrated Teachers’ Day on a grand scale and on virtual mode by launching Utsaha, a week-long tribute to the teachers of SJEC that began on September 1, 2020 and culminated on September 5, 2020.

Utsaha began with an ode composed by II MA English students that was dedicated to SJEC teachers and circulated through social media. On day two, the student council shared a video of students sharing their experience with teachers. On day three, a dance video of SJEC students dancing was shared. This was followed by an artistic video that showed the students get creative and their hands dirty to prepare attractive name plates for all the teachers of SJEC. Utsaha concluded with a music video that featured student council members and the volunteers singing for the teachers.

“In the background of the uncertainties of our time and in the midst of monotony of online classes, students have brought life and enthusiasm to all of us at SJEC through Utsaha. It was a tremendous effort with a lot of hard work and time they all have invested. They show life exists. They all add meaning and joy to our lives,” said Ms Shilpa Nataraj, Student Governor. Dhanush Babu, V BA HEP student and cultural secretary of BA said, “We put lot of efforts in making Utsaha a big success. It was lot of fun doing it and without the help of Shilpa ma’am all this would not have been possible.”
