Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders.
Like in every other College, SJEC also has a very active students council. Every year it is formed anew.
It consists of two democratically elected class representatives – a girl and a boy – from the 12 classes, one cultural and one sports representative from each class selected from the nominations filed by desiring individuals, two representatives from each academic and non academic associations.

Two committees of not less than 12 members – Cultural and Sports – are formed and a few members are nominated by the Governor to the councils, if necessary.
The Governor is appointed by the Principal and for the year 2006-07 Mrs. Jane Mascarenhas is the Governor. She will be assisted by Mr. Hari Ram in the sports activities. The Council Meets frequently and plans and evaluates its programmes.
