I have been teaching in SJEC since December 1985. Earlier,
I had taught English Language and literature in Fatima
College, Madurai, Tamil Nadu for eight years. I had also
worked for a year in St. John’s Junior College, Chennai.

My dissertation on ‘Human Relationships in Robert Frost’s
Poetry’ was part of M.Phil studies and Robert Frost is
still my favourite poet. I have done a course on Soho
Computing and passed my exam ‘Pravesh ‘in Kannada. I can
understand Malayalam and am well versed in Tamil.
As part of staff development programme, I have undergone
Refresher courses:
1) Current Trends in English Teaching and Issues in Second
Language Pedagogy
2) World Literature and Framing of Syllabus.

The Many-Faceted Problems of Evening College Girls
I am in touch with the women organizations in the city and
am the founder of the 18 year old Women’s Cell in our
College. I had been the Governor of Student’s Union and
had edited the College Newsletter and Annual for many
years.
I watch at least a movie a week (DVD). Listen to a lot of
music – interested in jazz, country, Classical both orient
and western. Still my favourite is ABBA. I watch TV –
often News Channels, Sports – cricket. Football and
Tennis.
The Profession of teaching is my choice and vocation and I
love my profession and life. |
