The Department of English started a new online certificate course in Communicative English for the SJEC students on August 1. The ongoing certificate course aims to improve the communicative competence among the students of SJEC, especially students who have studied in non- English medium. To ensure that students of every level get the benefit, the course is offered in 3 levels- Beginner, Intermediate, Advance.

The ongoing Beginner level course aims to impart basic technicalities of proper structure and punctuation. Learners will have to create a grammar scrapbook of the difficult or interesting topics they study in this course. Grammar topics will be discussed with help of articles, movies or songs to make the scrapbook interesting and learning efficient.

The course coordinator is Ms. Shilpa Nataraj, Assistant Professor, Dept of English. About 30 students are part of the ongoing Beginner level course. The tentative date of the upcoming Intermediate level course is October 2020.
