Co-author of five anthologies, Ekta Thakur brings laurel to college

Setting a high bar by being a co-author of about five anthologies recognised pan India, Ekta Thakur brings laurel to St Joseph’s Evening College (Autonomous). Ekta Thakur is one of the bright students of second year B.Com. and AICUF member with a keen passion of writing.

She is the co-author of five anthologies – ‘The Long Journey’, ‘To Atmos From Gravity’, ‘Azazel Blaze’, ‘Humare Jazbaat’ and ‘Excursions from the Mundane’ which were published this year. The first three books have been published by Bishara Publishers, Odisha with the help of the team work of Siyahi Vocals (that promotes writing); Humare Jazbaat has been published by Notion Press, Chennai and Excursions from Mundane by Manda Publisher, Delhi. All the books are available on e-commerce platforms – Amazon and Flipkart.

The Long Journey, a fiction, depicts the journey of people at different stages of life, whereas To Atmos, From Gravity highlights the relation between Atmos (a man with responsibility to keep the Earth safe) and Gravity (a women with power to keep atoms stuck with the earth) with intention to show that love is not materialistic. Azazel Blaze is a name given to God of Fears which urges people to speak out fear when many avoid; fear is not unusual but natural. Humare Jazbat is the collection of poems and Excursions from Mundane is the collection of writing of different young writers.

"It started as a hobby, but after seeing these kind of overwhelming responses I am not sure if I am gonna stop writing and aceing,” said Ekta who spoke exclusively to Springlight. “There are moments in life when we go through hell lot of emotional pain – not to harm us, but to hint us that it needs healing. My way of healing was to follow my passion which gave birth to the writer in me. ” She received certificates of appreciation from ‘Bishara Publications’ clubbed with ‘Siyahi Vocal’, Notion Press and Manda Publisher for her contribution to the anthologies.
