| The AICUF Unit
of the College was inaugurated by Jetung Lampoche, a
renowned Buddhist scholar and monk of Internaional repute.
He spoke of th need for religions to come together to
establish peace in the world. Fr. Daniel Fernandes S.J.,
Vice-Principal of St. Joseph's College of Commerce and the
State Advisor urged the AICUFers to join other groups in
the city struggling to better the lot of the poor. AICUF
though an association of the Christian students of the
College includes the others too. |

Every year students either go to exposure
camps or village visits to understand the reality of the
country. The Association also holds meetings and seminars
on civic and political issues and networks with other
organizations. It also visits have for
the aged and orphans.
The AICUF team had been on a
survey of the 'Gram Panchayat' of Karahalli - Kolar
District, to know the ware about of Gram Panchayat and the
functions of the Gram Panchayat. The Aicuf team met the
Head of the Panchayat and also conducted a survey with the
people of the village. |
